Garden installation of the irrigation system is not complex and can be carried out if some practical aspects are taken into account. I found that taking shortcuts often additional work or repair. Some of what follows is the common sense to the practical mind, but could easily be overlooked.
It starts with a clean garden design and irrigation system lawn. The practical aspects of good design would ensure that the spray nozzles away from buildings so that the walls are not wet. The capillary action of water in the masonry will lead to moisture inside walls. Some spray against the walls of the garden is not serious. If the garden is closed, care should be taken to avoid splashing in the neighbors’ garden. The water lines should also be as short as possible, bearing in mind that labor costs far outweigh the cost of irrigation pipes.
The road trenches in which pipes will be buried irrigation must be carefully planned before the start of excavations. A large number of pipes can be accommodated in a single trench, then try and pipes together to reduce road trenches. The most practical route is to dig the trench just inside and flower beds adjacent to the edge of the lawn. In this way, only the annual border plants are affected by the digging and lawns are not affected.
The trenches should also take the shortest route to the position of sprinklers within flower beds to minimize damage to plants and roots of large shrubs and trees. It is also advisable to try to keep a safe distance from the trench to the trunks of trees. Tree trunks near a watering would affect the spray pattern. In cases where the position of sprinklers is close to a tree, watering should be moved to a better position, even if the rest of the spray is affected negatively. Try to find a good compromise, always remembering that in a good garden irrigation, sprays must be placed in the spray head to head.
Digging inside a flower bed, the positions of existing facilities must be carefully noted. If possible try and trenches around the plants to minimize the number that must be removed. If plants must be removed, they should be removed carefully with the soil sufficiently attached to their mound. Place plants removed on plastic sheets, preferably in the shade. By digging and installing the irrigation system, garden, try to walk in the trenches to prevent undue damage to plants. Replace the plants in their original positions after the pipes were installed and the trenches filled.
If severe frost and freezing occurs when the system is installed garden is done, great care must be taken to ensure that funds are properly filed and settled enough to ensure that lines of flight after each irrigation cycle to prevent freezing of water in the pipes. A proper drainage sump shall be constructed to the position of the flush valve.
I have seen many system installations garden ruined by dogs, and the forks digging in the garden after the installation. To minimize this from happening, the trenches must be dug to a depth of 400mm (1 and 1 / 2 feet), the larger the diameter of the pipe. A good idea is to use pop-up sprays that are not readily accessible to pets. Dogs love to chew leaking sprinkler! This is another good reason to drain your system immediately after each irrigation cycle.
