Ammonia carbon support, best answer gets 10 points as soon as possible?
I just bought a Marineland ammonia carbon that looks like this http://source-www.petco.com/assets/product_images/4/4743190144B.jpg because I have a oscar fish never quiet that makes a load of waste and the water stays clean for more 2 days after water changes. So my question is: I can pour a little on my hang in the external filter (Marineland Penguin 350 with two cartridges in currently exists) after making water changes (25%) today? Also if I do it is poured into it how I can delete it without having to empty the entire filter?? Please help, this is serious. The store is miles away from my house, so would not be able to return until maybe next week. The tank is 4 months age, so as cycling
If the tank has been set for 4 months, cycling is not the case. Oscars are really dirty and your tank is not as easy tank care. As for carbon, I do not recommend that the filter is poured into me because it can clog the filter or just go in your aquarium and fish can get sick if any time error and precipitate carbon. Another reason why you should dump which will be difficult to remove since it is advisable to replace carbon every month, so their is no way removing it without killing all the bacteria if you just poured in. The best thing to do is wait for next weekend or go to a local store and ask for a bag of "aqua-pure filter" to do basically the same as the bag is also quite cheap … I have mine for about $ 0.89 cents a piece … and are all ready to go
